Hypnosis

Hypnosis is one of the simplest techniques that can be used to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone. The state of hypnosis can be achieved by focusing a person's attention in some way while at the same time encouraging a deep state of relaxation. In fact it is very much like daydreaming.

Hypnosis can turn your awareness toward your inner world and enable you to use the power of your imagination to create changes in your life. You will be guided to step through each brainwave state from "alert Beta" to "relaxed Alpha" and then "focused imaginative Theta", and as you do so you will become more fully aligned with the source of power within you. This power is your subconscious mind, the filter through which you react to all events in your life.

Hypnotherapy

During hypnosis it is possible to pass information more easily to the subconscious mind (or memory) in the form of positive suggestions. This is because the conscious mind is very relaxed in the Alpha and Theta states. This is the moment when hypnosis becomes hypnotherapy - the therapeutic application of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is sometimes referred to as therapeutic suggestion. This is because in hypnosis a client is given positive suggestions to benefit them in many areas of life, and help them make the changes that they desire.

An important component of hypnotherapy is that the client must be a willing participant in the process and therefore ready to accept and follow the positive suggestions. It is not possible to make someone do something against their will or against their own belief system.

At Hemisphere I use a combination of progressive relaxation, visual imagery, deepening of trance and positive suggestions during a therapy session. The process is designed to assist your subconscious to communicate with your conscious mind and this is the method by which you may then access your inner potential.

EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique

This can help you reinforce the changes you have made during hypnosis, to make them a really permanent part of your powerful subconscious.
